Update from Anton

“We have passed the mull of galloway and are now starting the journey northwards. The seas are quite rough and the going is slower. We have a long way to go and it will take us some time.

Last nights run was incrdibly hard work. During the bike ride colin had a puncture, which slowed us for 10 minutes. Once you get to ennerdale you head along the valley, to Black Sail hut, then up over black sail pass, a nasty steep route, with a poor path. Meeting people along the way it sounded nasty on top. Then back down the other side to wasdale head. ScafellĀ  was covered in fog, but we managed to not get lost.

After the run colin and I were both tired and spent anout 7 hours asleep. My body clock is now utterly confused, and I am not sure what I should be eating when. We tend to graze a lot: fruit, pringles, sweets and sausage rolls so far. The sailors don’t have much time to stop and eat and we don’t have the inclination. Whatever we can reach from our sleeping bags.

While the boat is comfotable sleeping is hard. You have to tie up a piece of cloth to keep yourself in the bunk! See attached.

Forecast is not looking great, so we have another trip to northern ireland. This is to give us some room for manouvere in case of problems.”
