Just been through and got my running kit together. This is the stuff that each competitor has to take with them. Its pretty much all there now, and can be seen in detail on the kit page. It comes in at about 3700 grams, which seems like a lot, especially as this does not include the water bladder, which will wear a reasonable amount with 2 litres of water in. (thats an extra 2kg right there).

I will try and get some pictures of it tomorrow, so you get some idea of the kit.

This year I have putrelated items in clear plastic bags. Hopefully this will mean that rather than digging through the bags in a panic at the checkpoints, I will calmly pull out the bags and show the items without having to extract every last thing, and then pack it all back. The downside of this is that the bags weigh a little bit extra and pack down about as well as cannon balls. If I decide its a stupid idea and doesn’t work, then they will be jettisoned. In the meantime I am thinking about labelling them - this is the product of having two librarians as parents.

On an unrelated note, Kithros II docked at Barmouth today, ready for the off. Lets hope its a good year.
