2 Training sessions last week, about 5 miles or so each. Then a tough challenge – being ill overnight and feeling the effects for the rest of the weekend. I am now under 12 stone in weight, but a little quicker than I might like and I have 3 days to get back up to speed before the South Downs Marathon. And it wasn’t just me, both the missus and the little one were ill, so no one could just retire to bed and get over it.
In other news, I have also now appeared in the Reading Evening Post. I expect my invitation to Big Brother in the post shortly…
I also chatted to my friend Chris (Armstrong) tonight. He is having a grand time in Russia and was enjoying Vodka by a lake at midnight, with the sun just going down…
Oh and I have just finished Chris Moon’s book, One Step Beyond. Chris Moon had his arm and leg blown off while clearing mines, and has since then run a lot of races, including the London Marathon, Marathon de Sables and the Badwater Marathon. Look them up they are tough. An inspiring book from a man who never says “I can’t do that” – a lesson for us all. De Sables here I come!
