T-Raining Update 26th May 2008

No rubber ring for me!

An artists impression of me today.

Went for a long run at the in-laws today – 14.5 miles over hilly Hampshire around Warnford, taking about 2.25 hours. Not too bad since it was pouring with rain – so much so that I have just put my gear on to wash to get it drier…

Still it’s a nice route, taking in Beacon Hill and Old Winchester Hill, and some quite interesting off road running through streams and rivers, over stiles and between nettles – my shins are still quite painful from brushing through the undergrowth. But by far the most memorable part of todays run was the weather. It rained, and rained and rained. It was getting quite biblical as what used to be roads turned into streams and what used to be streams turned into rivers.

Below are my HRM graph and also some elevation data from my memory map software (claculated from OS maps).

  1. T-Raining, I like it.
Coldish & wet in Tyumen, unusual for time of year, I’m assured. Not long to go for you now? ready to weigh anchor and heave-to, me hearty?

  2. Nice. Just been to your blog. Sounds great! 4 weeks to go, a marathon before then! Have you sponsored me yet?
